Genesis 5020

My Story for His Glory

A Great Book for your Tween!!!! May 6, 2013

Shadow Chaser by Jerel Law

From the back cover:

Many months have passed since part angel siblings Jonah, Eliza, and Jeremiah Stone began their angelic training. As part angels, or quarterlings, the siblings joined other children of nephilim to begin honing their special powers.

In this third installment in the Son of Angels series, Jonah’s story comes to resemble a modern-day Job as he’s faced with trials that affect his health, strength, relationships, and most-prized possessions. As he and the other quarterlings prepare for mid-term exams, their powers are tested once again in the most fierce battle against Abaddon’s forces yet. Will Jonah’s faith in Elohim continue to persevere as he fights Abaddon in his hardest battle yet?

Parents today are looking for fiction that makes Christianity and the Bible exciting for their kids. This series is the first Christian answer to Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the Kane Chronicles, the Secret Series, and other middle-grade series packed with action, adventure, and supernatural fights. But the message is solidly based in Scripture, conveying God is always in control.

My Thoughts:

I am jumping up and down saying, “Yes, yes, yes.” This is the series we have been waiting for parents.

If you have tried to talk to your kids about spiritual warfare and feel you haven’t quite reached them, then reach for this book. Your kids will be asking questions like, “Could this really happen, angels and demons fighting around us?”

Jonah has the gift of prophecy and I love the description of when he gives his first prophetic word. He feels like he is going to throw-up in front of all the other quarterlings but instead it is the word of God pushing its way out of his mouth. Another great conversation you can have. God does still speak through people, His spirit is alive and well.

They will read how the enemy inflicts illness and wants to make our lives miserable. What a great conversation you can have. I would recommend reading this book along with your child or before they do so you can ask them questions to get the conversation started.

I think boys and girls would enjoy this book. I am so excited to get my daughter started on this series, this will be our summer reading.

I would say read the first two books. I haven’t and I felt a bit lost but not so lost that I couldn’t catch on to what was happening. The first book in the series is Spirit Fighter and the second book is Fire Prophet.
