About:

The Red Door Inn took my breath away! Highly recommended!”–Colleen Coble, author ofThe Inn at Ocean’s Edge and the Hope Beach series

Marie Carrington is broke, desperate, and hoping to find sanctuary on Prince Edward Island while decorating a renovated bed-and-breakfast. Seth Sloane moved three thousand miles to help restore his uncle’s Victorian B and B–and to forget about the fiancée who broke his heart. He wasn’t expecting to have to babysit a woman with a taste for expensive antiques and a bewildering habit of jumping every time he brushes past her.

The only thing Marie and Seth agree on is that getting the Red Door Inn ready to open in just two months will take everything they’ve got–and they have to find a way to work together. In the process, they may find something infinitely sweeter than they ever imagined on this island of dreams.

My thoughts:

I had never read anything by Liz before. I honestly got her confused with another author when I requested this book. I have to say I am so glad I made that mistake because I might not have requested it otherwise.

I really enjoyed this story. The setting is amazing (Prince Edward Island), almost as wonderful at my favorite vacation spot (Mackinac Island).

It’s clear from the beginning that Marie is broken, the question is what broke her? Liz does a great job of slowly revealing her wounds.

Seth’s wounds are revealed a bit sooner which helps us to better understand where he is coming from in his distrust of Marie.

Marie questions God and whether He still hears her. Who hasn’t been there? I know I have.

There are many other great characters in this story that round out the whole plot and I am very excited to meet up with them again in the next book that will come out in the fall.

I have found a new author to keep an eye. If you enjoy a good romance with a lot of depth then this is a book you will enjoy.
