My thoughts:
First of all I love the covers to Sarah’s books. They draw me in and beg me to read them.
What I enjoyed about this book was that is reminded me a lot of Poldark (I love that series). The setting of the mining town and the dangers that surround that type of life and the the worry from those that have loved ones that work in that setting added to the intrigue of this book.
The opening scene is sure to capture your attention as we dropped into Julia at gun point and then Isaac rushing into the save the day.
This book did take me a few chapters to become fully invested, but overall it was a wise investment of my time as the story unfolded and the true motives of the characters were revealed.
