In Acres of Diamonds, pastor and New York Times bestselling author Jentezen Franklin helps you discover how you can gain the most out of where you are. Rather than give up and run toward better pastures when life gets difficult, you can seek and celebrate opportunities for growth and success right now.

You will find joy in every opportunity as you uncover the hidden potential within your family, job, ministry and community. God has a perfect plan for you. Find it–His very best–right where you are.

My thoughts:

This is a great book and so timely for all we are going through right now. It is kind of odd, many of the non-fiction books I have read recently speak to this pandemic, or at least how I am feeling during this time.

What diamonds can be found in the middle of the stillness we are experiencing? I imagine much more then I can see right now.

There was a particular chapter towards the end that really spoke to me. It was about our jobs. Many of us aren’t working and I think God is reminding people, or at least me, how precious my job is. The influence I can have over my students and even the other teachers. I don’t often think about that, or I do and then I forget. But now is a great time to reflect on the diamonds we can mine in our work places and at home.

Overall, I very good read that will give you a new appreciation for where you are at this moment.
