About:

Surrender Your Heart to the One Who Made It

Written prayers can serve as welcome guides to tune our hearts to the heart of God. In My Heart, Ever His Barbara Rainey shares 40 prayers to invite other women to bravely and authentically talk to God in the same ways the psalmists did thousands of years ago.

Like King David’s conversations with God, Barbara’s prayers are honest, even raw. Her transparency around experiences common to women encourages us to continually surrender to Christ and to see God as He is, not as we assume Him to be.

My Heart, Ever His
guides readers to become transparent with our God. He already knows us intimately yet is ever eager to welcome us in His boundless love.

My thoughts:

This book is beautiful (if I’m judging a book by it’s cover). It is high quality, has a ribbon bookmark you can move along as you read. It truly would make a beautiful gift book.

With that being said, that prayers in this book did not speak to me. I don’t know if it was the poetic format or if maybe I’m just not in a place in my life that these are the prayers I need to be praying? I think the prayers needed to be more general and they seemed very specific to the author and what she has gone through and I feel if you are writing this for a large audience they need to be broader.

However, I am sure these will speak to others who have walked the same path as author.
