About:

Get Set on Fire for God!

As the world slips into greater darkness, wandering more and more from biblical truth, the need for spiritual awakening becomes ever more critical. And as pastor and speaker James Levesque reveals, God is about to set the world ablaze.

In these enlightening pages, you will find twelve biblical principles to lift your faith–and ignite the fire inside you! Here is an exhortation to action, a challenge that will empower and inspire you to help carry the torch of revival. As your heart answers the call, you will find your life being activated for signs, wonders and miracles to reach your community–and the world.

My thoughts:

Truth bombs all over this book. Some people won’t like what they read but those are the people that probably need a wake up call.

For example: “If your only worship experience is on Sunday morning, I have to question if you truly have met Jesus. We are transformed by our exposure to His glory. Worship transforms us. Every time you take time to worship the Lord, you are being changed.”

Loved that quote above.

If you want to get stirred and remember why you asked Jesus in your heart in the first place this is a book that will get you there.

Grab your copy at your local bookstore, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Christianbook.com or your favorite retailer.

By Mr. Marco

Happy Friday everyone!!

Today I wanted to share with you a cool thing that happened to my daughter this week that has reminded me to listen to that still, small voice, otherwise known as the Holy Spirit.

Sunday night my daughter was packing for her volleyball game and she grabbed her shorts. As she did something inside her made her think, Maybe I should pack my extra pair.

She told me later, “Mom, I never take an extra pair with me, but something told me I should. I almost didn’t do it but I packed them anyway.”

The next day as the girls were getting ready for their game another girl groans, “Oh, no. I forgot my shorts.”

My daughter dug out the never-packed-before pair of shorts and gave them to the girl to wear.

Wow.

I realized and shared with her that she heard the Holy Spirit tell her to bring those shorts.

As we talked about this I wondered how many times I (we) don’t listen to that little voice inside of us and we miss the chance to bless someone else?

I know I don’t always listen to that voice. I will think, Oh, that’s a nice thought but I don’t have time for that. Ouch, am I squelching the Holy Spirit when I ignore that voice? Probably and therefore I have missed an opportunity to bless someone else.

My challenge to us all is to be very aware of those odd thoughts that come out of nowhere and be a blessing to someone. You may never know the impact you’ve had on their lives but Jesus does:)

Has this ever happened to you, maybe you listened to that voice, or someone blessed your because they did? We would LOVE to hear your story. Feel free to share in the comments.

principles

About:

“If you want a sense of what ‘true Christianity is, then I heartily recommend the reading of this volume.” – Dr. E.A. Johnston

The Scriptures declare that the Gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. This preaching and spreading of the Gospel will be done not by the ingenuity of men, but by the working of the Spirit of God. Do you want to be involved with God’s work at the end of the age? God uses the simple to confound the wise. His ways are not our ways. We need revival in our countries like what we see in the underground house Churches in China. May God teach, gather, and raise a remnant for His glory.

Learn the following from this volume:

  • Prepare for coming persecution in non-persecuted countries.
  • Learn Principles of how to gather as the Church from the Book of Acts and current underground Churches.
  • Access resources that will help your gathering or house Church meeting.
  • Experience personal revival and the Spirit’s empowerment.

From the Foreword:
The time is now. Count the cost. You will be persecuted, tested, and tried. You will be misunderstood, hated by the world, and sometimes hated even by the members of your own household. There will be tears, heartache, tribulation, suffering and pain. But, you will be living for the One who is worthy of all, and whose eternal kingdom cannot be shaken nor ever fade away. You will have the privilege of serving the King of kings and the Lord of all lords. Moreover, you will one day have the awesome indescribable experience of seeing His glorious face and hearing Him call you by name as His own. – brother Brian

My thoughts:

I was a bit hesitant about this book at first because I wasn’t really sure what it was all about. I was worried it might be about encouraging believers to leave their churches and start home churches. Although it does talk about home churches and underground churches it really is about so much more.

Truly, the principles in this book are things every believer should consider and live out. There is a lot of truth in this book (and the book is free on Amazon) and even if you go to a huge church you can gain so much from these insights. Many of us are in small groups or life groups and these principles could also be applied to those small settings.

I highlighted a lot of info. in this book but I will share a few quotes with you to give you a taste of what you will find.

“A brother (William MacDonald) stated this truth, in another way: “Christ should be the gathering center of His people. We should be drawn by His presence, not by a man. When believers see this and act upon it, the local Assembly need not be shaken by the departure of any man. An Assembly where Christians gather to Christ has strength, stability and solidarity.”” What a solid truth. How many of us have experienced people leaving the church when a pastor leaves or a youth pastor leaves? We should not be attending a church because of a man but souly because of Jesus.

There was a powerful principle on prayer. One of the things I read was: “Prayer is our reliance on God and the lack of prayer shows independence from God.”

I highlighted so much that I can’t possibly put it in this review but the book is free so I encourage you to grab a copy and read. I am sure you will be moved and encouraged and hopefully challenged as well. If we get these principles we should see a change in our church bodies, a change to more focus on Jesus and not on preferences.

Grab your free copy at Amazon.

I was asked to review this book in exchange for an honest review.

journalAbout:

The Voice of God Is Just a Journal Entry Away! Experienced therapist, teacher, mentor and one who flows in prophetic insight and wisdom, Dr. Michelle Miner will demonstrate and instruct you both in the value of journaling and how to journal in this interactive book. When I Journal He Speaks shares with you Michelle’s journey of learning how to use journaling to hear the voice of the Lord, so you can embark on that same uplifting, amazing road to a closer relationship with God. Maybe you’ve thought about journaling before, but you don’t think you are a writer, or you worry that you don’t know how to do it correctly. The good news is there is no right or wrong way to journal-and you can start in any way that feels comfortable to you. You will learn to discern the true voice of God and to have confidence in the knowledge that He is speaking to you. Your journal can become a resource upon which you can reflect to remind you of the words that God has given to comfort and inspire you. If you’ve ever heard someone say “God spoke to me” and wondered how that was possible…this book is for you. As you become closer to the Lord, you will begin to hear His voice in your everyday life. God speaks-are you ready to receive the gift of His voice?

My thoughts:

When I first got this book I wasn’t sure what to expect. I have always journaled a bit but never consistently as an adult. But as soon as I read the first journaling experience and quieted my heart I immediately sensed the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart and words poured forth.

How do I know they are from the Holy Spirit and not my own mind? I ask myself if they line up with what Scripture says. As long as nothing is out of line I feel what I am hearing must be from God.

I really needed this book as I have been struggling with intimacy with my Savior recently and wondered if He still spoke to me. The answer is, yes, He does.

This is a 40-day journey where you will listen for God’s voice regarding intimacy, defeating the enemy, words of encouragement, living in God’s presence, what keeps you from living in His presence, remaining in His presence and safety in God’s presence.

I highly recommend this book to everyone. We all need more of Jesus and this one way you can connect with Him. It was so encouraging to encounter His presence each day and have this book to guide me to ask Him questions and listen for His answer. I know this might be a bit different than what some of you are used to but I challenge you to take the plunge and dive deep into the waters of intimacy.

You can request this copy from local bookstore or grab your copy at Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.

Back with Heather’s Genesis 5020.

While we were in route to my uncle’s house, John called and asked me where I was.  I told him I was gone and I wasn’t coming back.

I told him I couldn’t live with him always threatening me and constantly being afraid of him.  He said he was only joking and wouldn’t actually do those things to me.  I refused to believe, my head was clear and I knew better this time.

I stuck with my plan to go to my uncle’s house.

My friend dropped us off at my uncle’s house.  He was happy to see us in one piece.

John continued to call, I ignored his calls.  He finally left a message saying that he left my place but had taken my computer.  I didn’t care, I was glad to be free of him.  We spent the night at my uncle’s house.

The next morning, my uncle had suggested I call my parents and see if they would help me get back home.  I agreed to do that.

It must have been the Holy Spirit leading me because I always said I would never go back home, never.

I called my parents and explained my situation and told them that I was about 4 weeks pregnant.  They quickly offered to pay for plane tickets for my daughter and me and even for my 2 cats to come back home.

It was hard to talk to my parents since I hadn’t spoken to them in 2 ½ years but just talking to them brought about some healing.

Later that day I arranged for a police escort to meet me at my apartment so I could gather some of my belongings.  I didn’t know if John had really left my apartment and I wanted protection from him just in case.

My uncle took me to my place, John was not there, thankfully.  I packed as many of my things and my daughter’s things that would fit into my uncle’s car and left the rest behind.

At my uncle’s house, while packing my things into suitcases so I could take them on the plane with me, I had this overwhelming feeling that I was doing the right thing by leaving this life I had known for 5 ½ years behind me and going back to live with my family.

It was a hard reality to swallow.

I felt like a failure, I couldn’t make it on my own in the big city, I had to go back home to mom and dad and accept their help.

That was what the enemy wanted me to believe.  I didn’t see it then but I do now, God was drawing me back to Him, I was that prodigal daughter who had squandered her inheritance.

How could my family and especially God, welcome me back with open arms?

I didn’t understand it but I was grateful.

Before I even got on the plane to go back to Michigan, my mom informed me that my brother’s ex-wife had a job for me at a company I had worked for when my daughter was a baby.

How could that be, I had been looking for a job for months and months in Vegas and found nothing, and now I had a job waiting for me in Michigan

That was all God right there.  Again, I knew I was doing the right thing.

I called my best friends and told them what was going on.  They were shocked as I had always said I would NEVER move back to Michigan.  We promised to keep in touch.

I boarded the airplane in Vegas a dead woman

I was tired from the life I had been consumed by.  I was so out of touch with my daughter, I had no idea how she felt about any of this.  I was completely disconnected on my end from God.

I just knew I had fallen too far from Him to be saved.  I was dirty and used up and had nothing to offer.

And there I was, carrying a new life inside of me, I surely did not deserve another chance, not me, a prostitute, drug addict, drug dealer, stripper, whore, horrible mother, a murderer.

How could I be getting another chance?

How could anything good come from me and the things that I had done?

I just didn’t understand it.  I completely underestimated God and His power to redeem ANYTHING.

Don’t you just want to go “yahoo!!!!!” I still get overwhelmed with God’s sovereignty when I read this.

He is so amazing. He loves us all so much. He goes wherever we are and reaches in and pulls us out. We just need to lift our arms and faces to Him, He will do the rest.

Love it!
