About:

Secrets are about to be revealed . . . but will the guilty be brought to justice?

Ava Jackson entered the military shortly after high school, but her mother’s illness has forced her to request an early discharge. She already lost her father while deployed, and there’s no way she’s going to let her mother die alone. But after a visit to the nursing facility where her mother lives, Ava is attacked walking back to her car. Fortunately, FBI Special Agent Caden Denning arrives in time to help fight off her attacker.

Caden reveals to Ava that she may hold the key to the murders of three families, and he needs her help before anyone else is harmed. The hits show a pattern, and clearly the killer has an agenda. But if Caden and Ava can’t discover what it is, Ava may be next on the hit list.

My thoughts:

Another very good book from Lynette, she never disappoints.

For some reason I was really looking forward to Caden’s story and him finally finding romance and it was worth the wait.

Non-stop action in this one, never a dull moment as this mystery unravels and things are reveal at just the right moment. I had my suspisions about a few things early on but wasn’t sure if I was correct not (I was).

Overall a very good read. If you like romantic suspense you will enjoy this book.

About:

She’s used to life-or-death situations.
She just didn’t expect them to follow her home.

When former field surgeon Heather Fontaine returns from a party to find that someone has broken into her house–and threatened her friends–she assumes it is the stalker who has been creeping her out. She hopes to find safety and peace of mind by leaving the city and hiding out in a small town. But trouble follows her even there.

Luckily, a stalker isn’t the only one observing Heather. Travis Walker has been secretly watching out for her for weeks. As owner of his own security agency, it’s what he does. Together, Travis and Heather must figure out who wants her dead–and why–before it’s too late.

My thoughts:

I don’t know how Lynette continues to pump out these heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat reads but she does it and I am never disappointed.

If you have read the other books in this series you will be happy to finally read Heather’s story and learn what makes her tick. She has quite the past that has left her hurt. Even if you haven’t read the other books you can easily pick this one up and fully enjoy it.

I had a pretty good idea who was behind everything early on but then Lynette threw in another possibility that had me second guessing. I was even thinking about this book when I wasn’t reading it, if that tells you anything.

About:

For one journalist, the story of a lifetime is hitting too close to home

Sarah Denning is a military journalist with the Army in the Middle East when she is taken hostage. When former Army Ranger Gavin Black is asked by his old unit commander–Sarah’s imposing father–to plan an extremely risky rescue, he reluctantly agrees and successfully executes it.

Back in the US, Sarah is livid when she’s discharged on a false psychiatric evaluation and vows to return to the Army. Until she learns of her brother’s suicide. Unable to believe her brother would do such a thing, she puts her plans on hold and enlists Gavin to help her discover the truth. What they uncover may be the biggest story of Sarah’s career–if she can survive long enough to write it.

My thoughts:

I am definitely loving this series. I liked the first one but this one was even better. I had a feeling from the beginning what might be going on but it was fun to watch it play out and unfold throughout the story.

Sarah and Gavin are a perfect pair and I love how Lynette makes sure her characters have flaws, often ones others have dealt with and we can see God’s redeeming grace in their lives.

I can’t wait to see who she feature next as I am sure all of these characters we have been introduced to will have an equally interesting story.

If you like romantic suspense I have no doubt you will thoroughly enjoy this read!

About:

They thought they left the fight behind on the battlefield.
But their greatest struggles are just beginning.

Honorably discharged from the Army after an explosion nearly killed her, former military psychiatrist Brooke Adams has set up shop to help others, but her days of helping military personnel are over. She’s got her own battles to fight from her time overseas, and she’s not equipped to take on more.

Former Army Special Ops Sergeant First Class Asher James could handle anything that war sent his way. The only thing that scares him now is sleep. As the shadows close in, the nightmares begin.

Finally convinced that he needs help, Asher makes an appointment with a counselor. When he arrives at her office, she isn’t there–but a dead body is. When it becomes clear that Brooke was the real target of the attack–and that her secrets go even deeper than his own–Asher vows to protect her no matter what.

My thoughts and giveaway:

I haven’t read a Lynette Eason book in awhile and I have to say picking this up was like a happy reunion. I was immediately drawn into this unique story.

It seems like there are many different threads that had nothing to do with each other but obviously we figure out they must have something to do with each other because a good writer makes everything count. So I was anxious to see how these threads would weave together.

Brooke and Asher have a lot of reasons they shouldn’t be together and just as many reasons why it would make sense. The inside look into people’s struggles as they return to civilian life was pretty eye-opening. Not only do our main characters struggle with this but many other characters in the book, who I have a feeling may get their own books in this series.

After being dumped by her fiancé, Chloe St. John has decided that the only male she likes is her K-9 German shepherd partner, Hank. Deputy US Marshall Blake MacCallum is in a race against the clock to rescue his kidnapped daughter when Chloe and Hank are asked to be a part of the task force assembled to bring down the traffickers. Chloe finds herself attracted to the silent, suffering man. But can she trust him? And can Blake trust himself around this firecracker of a woman?

Buckle in. This fast and furious ride will have your heart pumping from the very start.

My thoughts and giveaway:

Lynette Eason rarely disappoints and she definitely did not with this book.

This story has so many twists, turns, and unexpected moments that you will be the edge of your seating as you read.

The romantic portion of this book was very small, which I thought was perfect. I think if it had been played up more it would have taken away from the story. The romance between our two main characters was only dabbled in until the end and it worked perfectly.

This book reminded me a lot of Taken, a movie that deals with human trafficking and I really enjoyed.

About:

Intensity. Skill. Tenacity.
The bodyguards of Elite Guardians Agency have it all.

When a photo leads investigators in West Ireland to open a twenty-five-year-old cold case, Elite Guardians bodyguard Haley Callaghan’s life is suddenly in danger. Haley knows how to take care of herself; after all, she’s made a career out of taking care of others. But after she has an uncomfortably close call, Detective Steven Rothwell takes it upon himself to stay with her–and the young client she has taken under her wing. A protector at heart, he’s not about to let Haley fight this battle alone.

In a sweeping plot that takes them into long-buried memories–and the depths of the heart–Haley and Steven will have to solve the mystery of Haley’s past while dodging bullets, bombs, and bad guys who just won’t quit.

My thoughts and giveaway:

I have loved this series and couldn’t wait to read this book. It did not disappoint. And this is one book that I was totally unprepared for who the “bad-guy” was. I didn’t see that one coming and normally by the end I have a good idea.

The romance was also nicely done in this book. It wasn’t forced but very slowly built throughout.

The theme of forgiveness is huge and something we all have had to deal with in some way in our lives. Haley and Steven both have to take a step toward forgiveness and it’s not easy.

Overall, this was a great book that I couldn’t read fast enough. Can’t wait for Lynette’s next series.

About:

Intensity. Skill. Tenacity.
The bodyguards of Elite Guardians Agency have it all.

When Maddy McKay and Quinn Holcombe don’t show up for Quinn’s birthday party, his friends know that something is very wrong. Their search turns up little beyond evidence that Quinn and Maddy have vanished. And it soon becomes apparent that they did not leave of their own accord.

Maddy awakens in a cement room with no idea where she is. But it’s not long before she realizes she’s in the clutches of a madman who exacts revenge through games–hunting games. His prey of choice? Humans. Now Maddy and Quinn must run for their lives and outwit their killer when their game begins.

Because if they don’t win this game . . . they die.

My thoughts and giveaway:

I have loved every book by Lynette I have read. I thought I knew what to expect from her but this book took me by surprise in all good ways.

Wow. What a ride this book will take you on. There is never a dull moment. If you are looking for something to keep you up at night and on the edge of your seat look no further.

Maddy is a great heroine and Quinn, as stubborn as he is, is a great hero. They make a wonderful team.

There is so much unknown in this book, who is behind this scary stuff and how will Maddy and Quinn survive? It almost has a Hunger Games kind of feel to it.

I highly recommend this one.

About:

Intensity. Skill. Tenacity.
The bodyguards of Elite Guardians Agency have it all.

Katie Singleton, a partner with the Elite Guardians Protection Agency, stumbles upon her next assignment quite by accident. Spotting blue lights at a familiar restaurant, she stops to investigate, only to discover that owner Daniel Matthews has become the target of someone who will go to any lengths to put him out of business.

Daniel might be concerned, but he’s not convinced that a bodyguard–and a female one at that–is necessary. A new attack and his niece’s urgings are enough to make him reconsider. He and Katie must figure out who’s behind the intimidation and threats–before a would-be killer strikes again.

My thoughts:

This is another book I couldn’t wait to get back to and finish.

Lynette has crafted a story with many layers and full of great characters.

Katie has some brokenness to deal with from her past, and I loved how Lynette resolved that and worked that into the story line.

Daniel has his own issues with God, and not trusting him because of past disappointments.

I also really enjoyed Riley, Daniel’s teen-age niece and Lynette did a great job portraying her and making her a very real character.

I will say I had it figured out very earlier on who was behind the attacks, at least I was pretty sure. But even knowing that I still wanted to keep reading to see why this character was doing this to Daniel.

Overall, another great read from Lynette 🙂

About:

Intensity. Skill. Tenacity.
The bodyguards of Elite Guardians Agency have it all.

When it becomes clear that popular psychiatrist and radio personality Wade Savage has a stalker, his father secretly hires Elite Guardians to protect his son. But when Wade’s bodyguard is attacked and nearly killed, agency owner Olivia Edwards must step in and fill the gap.

Olivia’s skills are about to be tested to the limit as Wade’s stalker moves from leaving innocent gifts at his door to threatening those closest to him–including Olivia. But in her mind, even more dangerous than the threats to her life is the hold her handsome client has on her heart.

My thoughts and giveaway:

This book is amazing. Probably one of the best I have read by Lynette and I enjoy all of her books.

I wondered how I would adjust to having a woman protecting a man and how Lynette would write that without making the man seem too “soft” but she managed to pull it off.

Olivia is a strong character  but she definitely has her weaknesses. I really liked her.

Wade is a strong man who wants to take care of his daughter who has issues of her own.

I had an idea about who the stalker could be but Lynette kept me  guessing until the end and wondering if I was correct or not.

I also loved the reminder and play on the title that God is always watching. Even though there might be an enemy out there who is watching us God has way more power.

Overall, a great book for anyone who loves romantic suspend, highly recommended.

no place to hide

About:

She’ll defend her friend until the bitter end–but is she in over her head?

It’s not every day you see your childhood friend and onetime crush on national news. Jackie Sellers just wishes it were under different circumstances. She can’t believe that Ian Lockwood is wanted in connection with a terrorist plot, and she’s determined to find him and help him clear his name. Unfortunately, she’s not the only one looking for him. The FBI wants him captured. The bad guys want him dead. Ian just wants to stay alive long enough to prove his innocence and prevent a catastrophe.

Lynette Eason delivers nonstop action as Jackie and Ian travel a dangerous road–one that may lead straight to destruction.

My thoughts and giveaway:

Lynette Eason fans will not be disappointed with this latest release. From the first page until the last you will be on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen, how will our characters get out of the mess they are in.

There are many different point of view characters which add a lot of interest and dimension to what is going on. Even though we may not understand what role this person is playing there is no doubt left in the reader’s mind that this person has a purpose in telling their part of the story.

It’s like being given a bunch of puzzle piece and having no idea what it will all look like but knowing that it all fits together and eventually you will see the finished product.

I enjoyed the two main characters and the different roles they played and the slow romance that sizzled between them and the questions that are left unanswered from their past.

This is the third book in a series but can easily be read as a stand-alone.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves action and suspense with a dash of romance 🙂
