Felicity Miner is not normally an anxious person, and she’s been on her own since high school. But after a shoplifter steals from her bookshop, she calls the cops. When Officer Leo Russo shows up, Felicity has to tell herself that just because the romance novel she’s been reading has a hero police officer doesn’t mean she needs to project her imagination onto the real man. Yes, Officer Russo is unexpectedly generous, and he helps make Felicity’s home more secure when her worries won’t settle down. But the more Felicity is around Officer Russo, the more she imagines a future between them. Is he merely doing his duty, protecting and serving the citizens of Pine Valley, or is there potential for something more?

My thoughts:

Heather is a new to me author and I have to say I really enjoy her style of writing and would happily read more of her work.

I loved the setting of Pine Valley and the small town feel I immediately felt. I was drawn into Felicity’s story and what was going on in her life.

The attraction between Felicity and Leo was sweet. They tried to fight it but had a lot of trouble.

Leo, of course, is a wonderful hero.

If you are looking for a good romance with a small town feel I recommend this one.

Famously beautiful model Willow Bradford is reveling in the peace and quiet of her hometown right up until the moment she comes face-to-face with her ex-boyfriend, Corbin Stewart.

Former NFL quarterback Corbin is forceful, charming, and accustomed to getting what he wants . . . except where Willow is concerned. He’s never been able to forget her, but Willow makes it crystal clear she’s unwilling to risk her heart again.

When a decades-old mystery in Corbin’s family brings them together, will the heartbreak in their past and the complications in their present keep them from falling for one another all over again?

My thoughts and giveaway:

I am a Becky Wade fan. Her contemporary romances are real and deal with real issues and wounded people.

I loved this book and the romance that bloomed between Willow and Corbin.

It would seem Willow has the perfect life and that is actually what has lead her down some paths that have been twisted.

Corbin has his own brokenness but with Christ he sees there is redemption.

Then there is the mystery that is thrown in there, and I love a good mystery. So with Becky Wade I am getting a hot romance and intense mystery as well.

If you like a good contemporary romance that doesn’t shy away from the brokenness in the world around and the temptations that come crashing our way then I am sure you will love this book.

With Autumn’s Return

Amanda Cabot

About the book (from the publishers website):

She’s planning on instant success. She didn’t plan on love.

When Elizabeth Harding arrives in Cheyenne to open her medical practice, she is confident that the future is as bright as the warm Wyoming sun. Certain she’ll have a line of patients eager for her services, she soon discovers the town may not welcome a new physician–especially a lady doctor. Even Jason Nordling, the handsome young attorney next door, seems to disapprove of her chosen profession.

When a web of deceit among Cheyenne’s wealthiest residents threatens to catch Elizabeth and Jason in its snare, they must risk working together to save one of Elizabeth’s patients–even if it means falling in love.

My thoughts and giveaway:

This is the first book by Amanda that I have read and I REALLY liked it. Picking up her book was like meeting a new friend. Her writing drew me in instantly and I didn’t want to put the book down.

This is the third book in the Westward Winds series but Amanda does a great job of making you feel like you haven’t missed a thing. Although there are references to characters that are in the other books you don’t feel like you’re late to the party.

Elizabeth is a strong heroine who I liked immediately. She is strong in what she believes in and doesn’t compromise. She isn’t afraid to stand up to those who doubt her and she is one smart lady 🙂

Jason is a wonderful hero. At first he makes it hard to like him because he is hard on Elizabeth but as he softens towards her you will soften towards him. He desires to protect her and will do what it takes…..even fall in love.

I love that Elizabeth is willing to help those that others would deem unworthy. She shows the love of Christ to women who don’t often see it through other humans. That’s my heart’s cry as well.

At one point, at the end, Elizabeth (or maybe it was Jason, I can’t remember) sums up the events that lead to the moment she is in….it’s a total Genesis 5020 moment 🙂

Overall, a great historical romance that I highly recommend. I am now an Amanda Cabot fan!
