With her signature pulse-pounding suspense, bestselling author Lisa Harris takes you deep into the heart of fear in this race against the clock.

My thoughts:

If you enjoy romantic suspense Lisa Harris is a must read.

I have enjoyed every book I have read by her. Just when you think we need more action you get it.

I loved Nate and Grace’s history they had together and how they built on the but created something brand new.

They mystery surrounding what the enemy was after kept the reader guessing as well.

Overall, an action packed read.

About

She’ll have to draw on all of her resources to crack the case–and guard her heart.

After being dumped by her fiancé, Chloe St. John has decided that the only male she likes is her K-9 German shepherd partner, Hank. But being over the whole romance thing has perks–like giving full attention to her job. Attention she’s definitely going to need because a case of human trafficking with connections to her missing cousin just landed in her lap.

Deputy US Marshall Blake MacCallum is in a race against the clock to rescue his kidnapped daughter when Chloe and Hank are asked to be a part of the task force assembled to bring down the traffickers. Chloe finds herself attracted to the silent, suffering man. But can she trust him? And can Blake trust himself around this firecracker of a woman?

Buckle in. This fast and furious ride will have your heart pumping from the very start.

My thoughts and giveaway:

Lynette Eason rarely disappoints and she definitely did not with this book.

This story has so many twists, turns, and unexpected moments that you will be the edge of your seating as you read.

The romantic portion of this book was very small, which I thought was perfect. I think if it had been played up more it would have taken away from the story. The romance between our two main characters was only dabbled in until the end and it worked perfectly.

This book reminded me a lot of Taken, a movie that deals with human trafficking and I really enjoyed.

If you like fast-paced on the edge of your seat books you will enjoy this one!

About:

U.S. Marshal Casey Quinn is tasked with escorting a reporter to testify before a grand jury regarding a missing environmentalist. At first, the assignment seems routine. But when it becomes dangerously clear that there”s more to the story than anyone knows, Casey and two other marshals–one a man from her past–will have to do whatever it takes to survive.

My thoughts and giveaway:

I have been loving this series. Nancy knows how to write a book that will grab you and keep a hold of you.

Although I might not have gotten pulled into this one as soon the others in this series I still did get pulled in, it just took a bit more time.

I liked Casey. She was a tough woman, with pain from her past and of course E.J. is tied too. How could these two get it together when it comes to romance?

What was great about this book was you never were sure who the good guys or bad guys were. Who could you trust?

If you enjoy romantic suspense I am sure you will love reading this book.

About:

Trapped at sea for a Christmas cruise wedding when criminals board and take over the ship, the navy SEAL best man, Jordan Somerton, and DEA agent maid of honor, Amy Delgado, must work together to stop the would-be kidnappers from leaving with Amy’s young niece.

My thoughts:

This one is a nail-biter. From the beginning until the end you never knew what was going to happen.

Amy is a strong woman, who will do what needs to be done to protect those she loves and Jordan is a strong man that will do what needs to be done to protect those HE loves, even those he doesn’t realize he might love.

About:

In one week, the wrong man will be executed for murder.
Let the chase for the real killer begin.

Eighteen years ago, TV crime reporter Andi Hollister’s sister was murdered. The convicted killer sits behind bars, his execution date looming. But when a letter surfaces stating that the condemned didn’t do the crime, Detective Will Kincaide of the Memphis Cold Case Unit will stop at nothing to help Andi get to the bottom of it. After all, this case is personal: the man who confessed to the crime is Will’s cousin. Andi and Will must find the real killer before the wrong person is executed. But what can happen in only a week? Uncovering police corruption, running for your life, and, perhaps, falling in love?

With the perfect mixture of intrigue and nail-biting suspense, award-winning author Patricia Bradley invites you to crack the case–if you can–alongside the best Memphis has to offer.

My thoughts and giveaway:

I so enjoyed Patricia’s previous series and I wondered if this new one could be anywhere near as good.

The answer?

Oh. Yes. It. Can.

Patricia has written a new series that is so good. From the beginning questions are raised and the stakes continue to get higher as the book goes on.

Andi is a brave young woman and someone is out to get her, but who? And she has no idea why.

Will is a great hero that has a natural instinct to protect Andi.

Romance is sprinkled throughout which adds another element to the book.

If you love romantic suspense this is a book you will adore.

About:

Intensity. Skill. Tenacity.
The bodyguards of Elite Guardians Agency have it all.

Katie Singleton, a partner with the Elite Guardians Protection Agency, stumbles upon her next assignment quite by accident. Spotting blue lights at a familiar restaurant, she stops to investigate, only to discover that owner Daniel Matthews has become the target of someone who will go to any lengths to put him out of business.

Daniel might be concerned, but he’s not convinced that a bodyguard–and a female one at that–is necessary. A new attack and his niece’s urgings are enough to make him reconsider. He and Katie must figure out who’s behind the intimidation and threats–before a would-be killer strikes again.

My thoughts:

This is another book I couldn’t wait to get back to and finish.

Lynette has crafted a story with many layers and full of great characters.

Katie has some brokenness to deal with from her past, and I loved how Lynette resolved that and worked that into the story line.

Daniel has his own issues with God, and not trusting him because of past disappointments.

I also really enjoyed Riley, Daniel’s teen-age niece and Lynette did a great job portraying her and making her a very real character.

I will say I had it figured out very earlier on who was behind the attacks, at least I was pretty sure. But even knowing that I still wanted to keep reading to see why this character was doing this to Daniel.

Overall, another great read from Lynette 🙂

About:

Bailey Adams is running for her life . . . again.

When Bailey Adams left Logan Point two years ago she thought she was getting away from her problems. Running into her ex-fiancé Danny Maxwell was not part of the plan–neither was being chased through the city by the local drug cartel, the Calatrava. Now despite her best efforts, Danny is her only chance of escaping the people chasing her and getting back to Logan Point safely. Can Bailey find the strength to face what’s coming? And in the midst of the chaos, can she keep herself from falling in love with her rescuer all over again?

With lean, fast-paced prose that will keep you turning the pages, Patricia Bradley pens a superb story of suspense and second chances.

My thoughts and giveaway:

I have read every book in this series and I think Patricia gets better and better with each novel. This one starts with a face pace and doesn’t give you much time to breath before another twist takes place.

This book will also have you wondering who you can trust. I had my doubts about many characters but knew they couldn’t all be bad…could they?

Bailey is a sweet character who obviously has some wounds that cloud her judgement a bit. We meet Danny in a previous book so it was great to see him as a lead character in this one.

If you haven’t read the other books I think you could read this one and still fully enjoy it, but I highly recommend the other books.

About:

“Filled with red herrings and heart-pounding danger, Vendetta will leave readers anxiously awaiting Nikki Boyd’s next adventure.”–Irene Hannon, bestselling author of the Private Justice series

No one needs to push Nikki Boyd to excel on the Tennessee Missing Persons Task Force. The case of her own missing sister, still unsolved after ten years, is the driving force in her work. When a Polaroid photo of a missing girl shows up at a crime scene, Nikki quickly recognizes similarities to the past. The closer she gets to the abductor, the more she feels this case has become personal, and she is not the hunter . . . but the hunted.

With this explosive first book in The Nikki Boyd Files, award-winning author Lisa Harris takes you on a fast-paced pursuit of justice that will have you holding your breath until the heart-stopping finish.

My thoughts and giveaway:

I really enjoyed Lisa’s previous series so I was very excited to read this new one.

I will say the first couple of chapters didn’t really grab me but then…I was hooked and I didn’t want to put the book down.

Chapter after chapter of new twists, turns and dangers. The stakes constantly being raised. And the personal connection Nikki has with the case she is working on will have you sitting at the edge of your seat and up way past your bedtime.

Lisa is a wonderful storyteller and this newest book will not disappoint.

Deadlock by DiAnn Mills October 1, 2015

deadlock

About:

Two murders have rocked the city of Houston. Are they the work of a serial killer, or is a copycat trying to get away with murder?

That is the question facing Special Agent Bethany Sanchez, who is eager for her new assignment in violent crimes but anxious about meeting her new partner. Special Agent Thatcher Graves once arrested her brother, and he has a reputation for being a maverick. Plus, their investigative styles couldn’t be more opposite: he operates on instinct, while she goes by the book.

When hot leads soon fizzle out, their differences threaten to leave them deadlocked. But an attempt on their lives turns up the heat and brings them closer together, and a third victim might yield the clue that will help them zero in on a killer. This could be the case of their careers . . . if they can survive long enough to solve it.

My thoughts:

DiAnn Mill’s never fails at writing a page turner. This book is definitely that.

From the beginning I had my suspicions about who could be involved in the murders but there are some surprises at the end that I didn’t see coming.

So many layers to this story that will all get revealed at the end.

I loved both of the main characters. Bethany likes to play by the rules but she starts to see the benefits of thinking outside the box thanks to her partner, Thatcher.

He is a multi-layered character that makes him very interesting. He is fresh in his faith and trying to shake the image that Bethany has of him.

A theme prevalent in this book is family. Sometimes our families are in turmoil but when it boils down to it they are still our family and we still love them.

Overall, I wonderful read that will keep you up at night.

Tell us about yourself, family, where are you from, how long have you been writing?

Long, long ago I grew up in Memphis when it was a place that seemed like a small town. I rode public transportation all over the city, often arriving home after ten and walked a half mile from the bus stop to my home. I loved reading, beginning at around five with the comicstrips and graduated to books before I went to school. I thought about writing, as in… “I believe I could write a story like that.” Little did I know how hard it was. 🙂 But I never put feet to the idea until these people came to live in my head and wouldn’t go away until I told their story. So I did. And that story became the first story I ever wrote and the first story Woman’s World bought. But it would become 32 years before I received a contract for my first book that I revised for 5 years.

How did you come to know Jesus as your Savior?

I was nine years old, in church on Sunday like always, when I felt Jesus tugging on my heart. Couldn’t tell you what the sermon was about, but I knew I had to say yes. Fast forward a few years and you’ll find me a rebellious teenager. I walked in the wilderness for 30 years—not quite as long as the Israelites. Then, one day I realized what a mess I’d made of my life, doing things my way. I asked God to help me to live for Him, and from that day forward, I’ve tried to do that. I am so glad we have a God of second chances. Not that I always get it right, even now. 🙂

Tell us about your latest book(s). What do want your readers to take away after theGone without A Trace last page?

Gone Without a Trace is a book about forgiveness and that no matter what and even when things don’t go like you want, God is in control.

How often do you blog and what do you cover in your blog?

Matt Jones has created a new website and blog for me, and I am now blogging on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Tuesdays, it’s about my life and writing journey. I write about my characters, the writing process as well as my personal journey and how God is working in my life. Thursdays are reserved for guest writers and book reviews.

Can you share with us a Genesis 5020 in your life?

I’ve found that I don’t need others to try and harm me—I do it very well on my own. When I was seventeen, I became pregnant and then got married. Many years later I use what God taught me in the hard years that followed to speak to teens and preteens, trying to get them to make good choices for their lives by telling them my story. God doesn’t waste anything, especially the mistakes we make.

So true.

Do you have a life and/or a ministry verse?

It’s hard to pin a verse down to one, but Psalm 37:4 and 7 have special meaning to me. “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart…wait patiently on the Lord.”

Gone without a Trace

A Novel

Patricia Bradley

The past is repeating itself—and time is running out

It’s been more than two years since homicide detective Livy Reynolds’s cousin disappeared from Logan Point. Unlike most people in her hometown, Livy has never believed that Robyn left voluntarily. When Dallas private investigator Alex Jennings contacts her concerning a senator’s missing granddaughter who was last seen in Logan Point, Livy notices eerie similarities between the two disappearances. With self-doubt plaguing her after killing a teenager in the line of duty and an almost instant dislike of the self-assured PI, she’s finding this investigation an uphill battle. But with the prospect of finding her cousin on the horizon, she’ll have to find a way to work with Alex—before it’s too late.

Award-winning author Patricia Bradley keeps you on the edge of your seat with a case—and a relationship—that is anything but certain.

“Patricia Bradley has hit a home run. The suspense is high, the romance is sweet, and the villain is one you want to see caught and brought to justice. Gone without A Trace, a novel of forgiveness and finding one’s place in the world, brings home the point that while not everything in life may go the way you want, God is still in control. Can’t wait for the next book!”—Lynette Eason, bestselling, award-winning author of the Hidden Identity series
